New Delhi: Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly going to refuse orders to pay Kylian Mbappe the €55 million that Ligue 1 has ordered to be paid to the forward. According to media sources, the club is set to not pay the back pay to the 25-year-old who left the club this year.
Mbappe has claimed that the amount asked consists of the final three months of his salary and bonuses. However, the Qatar-owned club have said the French captain had agreed to cede the payment back in August 2023. The French league’s appeal committee has tried to intervene in the bitter fight between Real Madrid’s forward and PSG. It is being reported that the Ligue 1 club is all set to refuse to follow the LFP ruling in favour of Kylian Mbappe.
On their count, PSG have repeatedly said that Mbappe had made both public and private announcements of ceding his payments from the club. PSG had noted that they had invested in Mbappe for seven years after the player became part of the youth club and that was something Mbappe should respect.

While the committee cannot force PSG to pay the sum, other sanctions could be levied on the club. Primarily, if PSG does not relent in the order, they could face transfer bans. Further, Mbappe may also take the case to an employment tribunal in order to receive his wages.
For a while, Mbappe has repeatedly made the headlines for the wrong reasons. He is currently also allegedly under investigation in Sweden for assault in a hotel room. Mbappe has denied the allegations and called it baseless, with his representatives noting that this was part of poor media reporting.
