New Delhi: Vice President Jadeep Dhankhar on Tuesday thanked President Droupadi Murmu for visiting him at his residence to enquire about his health. The vice president was recently hospitalised for cardiac-related ailments.
Taking to X, the Vice President wrote, “Profoundly grateful for Hon’ble President, Smt. Droupadi Murmu Ji’s touching visit to the Vice-President’s Enclave. Her benevolent concern and wishes for my restoration to health were truly rejuvenating.”
Sonia Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee were among those who called VP’s family
Earlier on Monday, Dhankhar revealed that Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee were among leaders who were in touch with his family to enquire about his health. The Vice President added that he was “greatly touched” by the concerns expressed by leaders across party lines.

“The Leader of the House (and Union Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda) and the Leader of the Opposition (Mallikarjun Kharge) were the first ones to get in touch with my family. Sonia Gandhi got in touch with my wife as did the chief ministers of several states including West Bengal,” news agency PTI quoted him as saying.
Dhankhar, was admitted at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on March 9 after cardiac-related ailments. He was discharged on March 12. Sharing his thoughts on Monday, the Vice President added, “This will be a source of inspiration and enlightenment to me.” He added that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others visited him, others also wanted to meet him, but could not do so due to restrictions.
