Oil marketing companies has announced a price rise of the commercial LPG cylinders in metro cities around the country. The increased price of the commercial cylinders has come into effect from today, (Friday), November 1, 2024. Incidentally, the commercial cylinders carry 19 kg of LPG while the domestic cylinders contain 14.2 kg of the kitchen fuel.
Incidentally, the price hike from November 1 marks the fourth month in a row when the oil marketing companies have raised the prices of the business LPG cylinders. However, a significant point is that despite the increasing cost, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders has not been changed, which will spare the Indian households from stress on the kitchen budget, which have already come under considerable pressure due to food inflation that has been rising in the past few weeks, one of the reasons being the impact of excessive rains on the production and supply of vegetables.
Cost of 19 kg LPG cylinder in New Delhi
After the price rise, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in the national capital of New Delhi has gone up by Rs 62 and the retail price one has to pay for this cylinder is Rs 1,802, up from the previous Rs 1,740. Incidentally, on October 1, the oil marketing companies increased the price of 19-kg commercial LPG gas cylinder by Rs 48.50, which pushed up its retail price in the national capital Delhi to Rs 1,740. Looking back at the first day in September, one can see that the oil marketing companies pushed up the price of the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder by Rs 39, which brought the retail price to Rs 1,691.50. In August 2024 too, oil companies announced a price rise of Rs 8.50, with the cylinder then priced at Rs 1,652.50.

Besides the national capital, the price of the commercial cylinder has gone up by varying amounts in all metros from today. The retail prices in the different metros are as follows:
- Rs 1,754.50 in Mumbai
- Rs 1,911.50 in Kolkata
- Rs 1,964.50 in Chennai
