New Delhi: Matchday 10 of the Premier League has already seen some exciting games, with Manchester City losing their first game of the season in the competition. Liverpool’s win over Brighton and Hove Albion makes them the leader of the points table, while Nottingham, after their win over West Ham, means they are placed third after Arsenal lost to Newcastle.
Sunday’s competition includes three back-to-back games, with the last game drawing a lot of attention as Chelsea take on Manchester United, who are currently with an interim manager at the helm. Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa have been playing good football and will try to end their weekend with a big jump in the points table.

Aston Villa and Tottenham were involved in upsets during the week in the EFL Cup. Tottenham ensured Manchester City crashed out of the league, while the Gunners lost to Preston to exit from the round of 16. Ange Postecoglou’s team handed Crystal Palace their first win of the season last week. With a five-point gap against Villans, Tottenham’s biggest strength is their performance at home as they look for their 6th consecutive win at Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
In the last week of October, the Villans missed a chance of entering the top three after a last-minute goal from Bournemouth, and the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Unai Emery’s team were behind Arsenal in just goal difference, and they ended the week. They come into the draw with an undefeated streak of seven games in the top flight of English football. In the away games, Villa scored consistently this season. In their last game in Tottenham’s backyard, they won 2-1 in November 2023.
Tottenham Hotspur: Vicario; Porro, Romero, Dragusin, Udogie; Kulusevski, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Son
Aston Villa: Martinez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Digne; Onana, Tielemans; McGinn, Rogers, Ramsey; Watkins
Predictions: Tottenham 1-2 Aston Villa

A lot has changed for Manchester United since last weekend’s loss to West Ham. Following Erik ten Hag’s dismissal, Ruben Amorim was appointed his permanent successor. Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy will look for United to repeat their EFL Cup 5-2 win over Leicester City at Old Trafford, with both Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes scoring braces. United are one of the three teams who are yet to score ten goals this season, and Van Nistelrooy would hope to improve that area for the club.
Goalscoring is no issue for Enzor Maresca’s Chelsea, with Cole Palmer registering 7 of the 19 goals scored by his team. This ability to find the back of the net helped them finish 2-1 over Newcastle United last week. However, Marseca fielded a different team against the Magpies in the midweek EFL game and crashed out of the competition. Chelsea have performed well in away games and are sitting in sixth place in the Premier League, and a win could catapult them to the top five.
Manchester United: Onana; Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Ugarte; Rashford, Fernandes, Garnacho; Hojlund
Chelsea: Sanchez; James, Fofana, Colwill, Gusto; Caicedo, Lavia; Madueke, Palmer, Neto; Jackson
Predictions: Manchester United 2-2 Chelsea

On the back of some decent Marco Silva’s, Fulham are making great progress this season in the Premier League. Last weekend, the Cottagers were nearing a win until Everton denied them the three points in the 94th minute. As they return to their home turf of Craven Cottage, their performance here has been mixed. They have scored in all Premier League games in the stadium but have failed to keep a clean sheet since March 2024.
Thomas Frank has been working with Brentford, who are on the brink of entering the top ten. They have scored an impressive eighteen times but conceded an equal number of times, which has raised questions about their defence tactics. The Bees have lost all four of their away games. However, they will be more confident in the game, having won 3-0 last season.
Fulham: Leno; Tete, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Berge, Pereira; Traore, Smith Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez
Brentford: Flekken; Van den Berg, Collins, Pinnock, Ajer; Damsgaard, Janelt, Norgaard; Mbeumo, Wissa, Lewis-Potter
Predictions: Fulham 1-1 Brentford
