New Delhi: With a well-deserved 2-0 victory over the 10-man Gunners, Bournemouth added a massive blow to Arsenal’s hopes of winning the Premier League title. After barely making an impression in the first half, Arteta’s team lost by one man for the third time this season when Saliba was sent off for tripping Evanilson following a VAR intervention.
After Raya made a few excellent saves to keep Arsenal tied, they finally gave up as substitute Christie scored the first goal after a deft set-piece move with 20 minutes left. Ten men Arsenal’s resistance was broken by a skillfully executed set-piece by the Cherries as Christie got onto the ball while Justin Kluivert guided on a low corner from the left.

With an incredible shot, Christie managed to beat David Raya and slammed it into the top-left corner to make it 1-0 in the 70th minute of the game. Shortly after, Raya gave away a penalty to make his day worse. Kluivert stepped up to take the penalty and confidently hit it into the bottom right corner. Raya went the wrong direction as his day only got worse thanks to the Dutch forward. Arsenal did have their fair share of chances, but failed to capitalise on any of them, which costed them the match. However, it was a historic night for the Cherries as it was only the second ever win for them over Arsenal.

The player of the match has to go to the Dutch international, Justin Kluivert, who came off the bench for Bournemouth and completely changed the game for the Cherries. He was involved in both the goals, as a cleverly diverting corner kick was further flicked on by Kluivert who picked out Ryan Christie on the edge of Arsenal’s area, while the Scottish international blasted his shot to beat the helpless Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.
Kluivert found himself on the scoresheet after Evanilson was fouled inside the Arsenal box, by David Raya who had a night to forget. It was the Dutch international who opted to take the penalty and he tricked the Spanish goalkeeper, sending him the wrong way, to find the net and make it 2-0 for Bournemouth. There were other contenders for the player of the day, such as the Argentine centre back, Marcos Senesi and Ryan Christie, but in the end it was Justin Kluivert who truly made things happen for an extremely confident Bournemouth side.
