Prayagraj administration has announced five key changes at Maha Kumbh fair site after massive stampede that killed at least 30 people on Wednesday morning. Among the restrictions include complete ban of vehicles in the Maha Kumbh zone.
The strict measures have been taken after the stampede at the Kumbh site that also injured over 60 people. The entire Maha Kumbh site has now been declared no-vehicle zone that means no vehicles will be allowed inside.
Here are the five changes announced to the Maha Kumbh site
- Maha Kumbh ground has been declared a complete no-vehicle zone. The entry of all types of vehicles is strictly prohibited.
- All the VVIP passes have been revoked. No vehicle will be allowed entry even with special passes.
- Implementation of one-way route: One-way traffic system has been introduced to ensure smooth movement of devotees.
- Vehicle entry restricted: Vehicles arriving from neighboring districts of Prayagraj have been stopped at district borders.
- Strict restrictions till February 4– Four-wheelers entry into the city will remain completely prohibited.
The Prayagraj district administration has said that these measures are aimed controlling the crowd movement and ensure the safety of devotees at Maha Kumbh. Administration has urged devotees to follow the guidelines and maintain the order.
