Patna: Election strategist turned politician Prashant Kishore is all set to launch his political party in Bihar. He decided after meeting people across villages in the state for the last two years and a half years. While announcing the launch of his party, Kishore also announced that Jan Suraj Padayatra would continue in the state even after the launch of the party.
Notably, Assembly elections are due in Bihar next year. With the launch of the party, various questions are being raised about who will be the prominent faces of the party, and how much impact will this new party make space in the Bihar politics that is already revolved around NDA-Mahagathbandhan.
Who are the prominent faces of PK’s party
People from different walks of life, including leaders and former government officers, have joined the party. Among the notable faces in the party include DP Yadav, a former Union Minister, former BJP MP Chedi Paswan, and former MP Purnamasi Ram. Several former IAS and IPS officers have also joined the party.
Agenda of the party
The party has several agendas, which include lifting the liquor ban, progress of education, migration, poverty, employment guarantee, and focus on panchayat among others. Kishore had earlier said that he would lift the ban on liquor and with that money he would work towards improving education in the state
On the employment guarantee, the party has promised more jobs to stop migration from the state. In a recent event in Patna, he had also said that no one would be required to leave the state for a Rs 10,000-Rs 12,000 salary and that his party would provide job opportunities in Bihar itself if it comes to power. He also talked about increasing the social pension amount for the poor.
