New Delhi: Former poll strategist-turned-activist Prashant Kishor officially launched his political party Jan Suraaj Party. Kishor said that Jan Suraaj Party has been officially accepted by the Election Commission. The Jan Suraaj Party is expected to contest in all seats of Bihar in the next assembly polls.
The political outfit was launched at Veterinary College Ground in Patna. Many renowned figures, including former Union minister Devendra Prasad Yadav, diplomat-turned-politician Pavan Varma and former MP Monazir Hassan, were present at the event.
The party was formally launched two years after Kishor had kicked off a more than 3,000-km-long ‘padayatra’ of the state from Champaran, the place where Mahatma Gandhi had started the first Satyagraha in the country. Kishor has been mobilising the people for a fresh political alternative that could bring an end to Bihar’s ills.
Addressing the people during the launch on Wednesday, Kishor pointed out that everyone including Hindus, Muslims, upper, middle and backward classes, have come to our event (rally). “The ideology of Jan Suraji is humanity. Human First is our ideology,” he pointed out.
‘Jan Suraaj will bring back the lost glory of Bihar’
“Most leaders have failed Bihar, but we will improve its status,” he told his party members, while telling them that “in our lifetime, we will create such a Bihar that no one can insult a Bihari”. Kishore said that Jan Suraaj will bring back the lost glory of Bihar. “We will create a Bihar where people from Punjab, Maharashtra, and Gujarat come seeking work,” he added. “Your children must have education and employment opportunities and there should be a vote for education and employment.”
Kishore underlined that Jan Suraaj will accomplish what the Congress, Lalu Ji (former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav), and Nitish Ji (Bihar CM Nitish Kumar), couldn’t.
