Palakkad: In a veiled attack on the LDF government, BJP senior leader and Kerala-in-charge Prakash Javadekar challenged the left government to publish the latest data of Waqf land holdings in the state and has criticised both the CPM and the Congress for passing a resolution against the Waqf amendment passed by the central government.
“We demand that Kerala government should publish the latest data of how many Waqf lands are there in Kerala. it should also give details of how much government land are claimed by Waka and how many private lands and farmers lands are claimed by Waqf. This can easily be done in this week because record is with the government has just collate and declare”, said Prakash Javadekar, former union minister and
“Both UDF and LDF passed unanimous resolutions against Waqf amendment bill, even though the bill is not discussed in Parliament and not voted upon, the matter is in JPC, and both LDF and UDF leaders are opposing the amendments and taking sides. This is nothing but appeasement politics by the UDF and the CPM”, said Prakash Javadekar, senior BJP leader while addressing the media in Palakkad
“The duplicity of LDF and UDF and politics of appeasement of extreme element doesn’t stop here. They have not spoken a word about attacks on thousands of Hindus in Bangladesh and they have not given their reaction on the attack on Temple in Canada. People of Kerala have understood the nature of UDF and LDF. We always believe in justice for all Sabka Saath Sabka Vika. We will never allow appeasement of extreme elements by any government.
Congress and CPM concerned about BJP and RSS taking mileage out of Munambam row
Meanwhile, both the LDF and UDF leaders have been treading a cautious path while reacting on the Munambam Waqf land issue in Ernakulam. CPM leadership is of the view that the BJP and the RSS are trying to mislead the public, especially the Christian community in Munambam and elsewhere in the state over the matter.
“The party is closely monitoring the incidents in Munambam as the protests by the families have intensified. The BJP and the RSS is trying to take maximum mileage out of the issue by misleading them with the new amendment that has been introduced in the parliament. The issue in Munambam has nothing to do with Waqf act. We are planning to resolve the issue in such a manner that no families residing in Munambam will lose their land”, said a CPM state secretary member at the LDF meeting IN Trivandrum.
