New Delhi: In a major political development, former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and AAP leader Sanjay Singh visited NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s residence in Delhi on Tuesday night, sparking speculation about possible alliances ahead of the Delhi assembly elections.
Interestingly, Congress leaders Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Gurdeep Singh Sappal were also present at Pawar’s home during the meeting. Originally planned as a dialogue between Kejriwal and Pawar, the presence of prominent Congress figures has added an unexpected dimension to the discussions.
The meeting takes place as Delhi gears up for assembly polls, expected in February 2025. AAP, which has already announced its intention to contest independently, has released two candidate lists. However, the gathering of these political heavyweights has led to conjecture about potential strategies to counter the BJP in Delhi.
While the specifics of the discussions remain undisclosed, the timing of this meeting suggests efforts to coordinate opposition forces or explore possibilities of collaboration in the high-stakes elections.
