PM Narendra Modi welcomed with ‘Jahva’ after arrival at Ranchi airport | Watch

Ranchi: The Prime Minister who was in Ranchi to inaugurate several projects in Jharkhand was welcomed with ‘Jahva’ at the Ranchi Airport soon after his arrival. The state is celebrating the Karma festival on Sunday.

Addressing the event to inaugurate several projects, the Prime Minister said, “This morning, when I reached Ranchi Airport, a sister welcomed me with a ‘Jahva’, a sign of Karma festival. Sisters pray for their brother’s well-being in this festival. My wishes to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion.”

Earlier in the day, PM Narendra Modi virtually launched several projects worth Rs 660 crore from Ranchi. Among the projects included laying the foundation stone for the Madhupur bypass line in Deoghar and the Hazaribag. Apart from this, the prime minister dedicated another Kurkura-Kanaroan line to the people, which is a part of the Bondamunda-Ranchi single-line section and the Rourkela-Gomoh route. The project will help in increasing the movement of goods and passenger traffic.

PM flags off six Vande Bharat trains.

He also virtually flagged off six Vande Bharat trains for Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh in the morning. He was scheduled to flag off the trains from Tatanagar but could not take off due to poor weather conditions. Among those who were also present on the occasion included Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar.

The trains which were inaugurated today will run on Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Tatanagar-Patna, Deoghar-Varanasi, Rourkela-Howrah, Gaya-Howrah and Bhagalpur-Howrah. Beginning Sunday, the prime minister is on a three-day visit to Jharkhand, Gujarat, and Odisha. During these three days, he will lay foundation stones and launch projects worth over Rs 12,460 crore.
