New Delhi: With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) all set to form the government in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the new government in Delhi will work towards making the Yamuna river the identity of Delhi.
Addressing the party workers in the BJP headquarters after the party’s thumping win, the Prime Minister also said that the next government will also table the CAG report in the Delhi Assembly in its first session and that action will be taken against those found corrupt.
“I pledged during the election campaign earlier that the BJP will make Yamuna River the identity of Delhi. I know this work is tough and may take a long time. No matter how much time is spent, no matter how much energy is used. But if there is a determination, Mother Yamuna will continue to bless us. We will make every effort to serve Mother Yamuna,” the Prime Minister said.
He added, “I assure you that the CAG report will be presented during the first session of the Assembly. Those involved in corruption will not be let off, and the looted money will be recovered. This is a guarantee from Modi.”
