New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday virtually inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for multiple railway projects around the country. These projects span across Jammu & Kashmir, Telangana, and Odisha.
The PM inaugurated New Jammu Railway Division, Charlapalli New Terminal Station in Telangana and laid the foundation stone for the Rayagada Railway Division Building of East Coast Railway in Odisha.
Transformative strides made by Indian Railways
Speaking at the event, PM Modi emphasised the transformative strides made by Indian Railways in the last decade, saying, “The last decade has been the decade of visible transformation of Indian Railways. These changes have redefined the image of the country and instilled confidence among citizens.”
PM Modi also highlighted the achievements in urban transport. “Our country has now over 1,000km of metro network. The projects that have been inaugurated today – for Telangana, Odisha and Jammu & Kashmir – it’s a huge milestone in connectivity. It shows that the country is moving ahead together. This is ‘sab ka sath sab ka vikaas’,” he said.
‘First bullet train will run in the country soon’
Reflecting on the technological advancements, he shared his excitement about a video showing the new sleeper version of the Vande Bharat train undergoing trials at 180 km/hr. “This is just the beginning. The day is not far when the first bullet train will run in the country,” he said.
PM Modi also extended greetings on the occasion of Guru Gobind Singh’s Prakash Utsav. “His ideas inspire us to build a prosperous and empowered India,” he remarked, wishing the nation on the auspicious day.
