Palghar projects
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the projects in Palghar aim to establish a world-class maritime gateway to boost trade by accommodating large container vessels and handling ultra-large cargo ships. The Vadhvan Port near Dahanu in Palghar will become one of India’s largest deep-water ports, providing direct access to international shipping routes, reducing transit times and costs, and promoting regional economic development.

He will inaugurate the “National Rollout of the Vessel Communication and Support System,” worth Rs 360 crores, installing 1 lakh transponders on fishing vessels to improve safety and communication for fishermen. Additional initiatives include developing fishing harbours, integrated aquaparks, and modernising fish markets to improve post-harvest management and boost fisheries productivity.
