New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Grameen Bharat Mahotsav 2025 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from today. The event will continue in the national capital till January 9 under the theme ‘Building a Resilient Rural India for a Viksit Bharat 2047’.
The aim of the six-day event is to further improve rural infrastructure and also create self-reliant economies, and come out with new innovations within rural communities across the country. Among other objectives of the event is to include the promotion of economic stability and financial security among the population living in rural areas.
Special focus of the event
The special focus of the event will be on the North-East part of the country. The focus will be on financial inclusion and sustainable agriculture of the region. According to officials, the near-week-long Mahotsav will also look to empower women in rural areas through entrepreneurship. Among the stakeholders from various sectors include building a roadmap for collective rural transformation; and encouraging the use and learning of technology and innovative practices to to enhance rural livelihoods. The event will also show the country’s rich cultural heritage through performances and exhibitions.
PM Modi inaugurated 1,675 newly constructed flats on Friday
On n Friday, the Prime Minister inaugurated the 1,675 newly constructed flats for the dwellers of JJ clusters. He also handed over keys to beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar Earlier in the day, he inspected newly constructed flats for the dwellers of Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) clusters under the In-Situ Slum Rehabilitation Project. Through the project, authorities aim to provide the area’s residents with a better and healthier living environment. Under the project, eligible beneficiaries are required to pay less than 7 percent of the total amount, for every Rs 25 lakh spent on the construction of a flat . It comprises Rs 1.42 lakh as a nominal contribution and Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.
