New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up to finalize its candidates for the remaining 41 constituencies of Delhi Assembly. The party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting will be held on Friday to carefully evaluate and approve the names of candidates for the polls.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda, and other senior party leaders are expected to attend this meeting.
Schedule of meetings
A series of high-level meetings are scheduled to take place, starting with a core group meeting at 10.30 am at BJP President JP Nadda’s residence. Home Minister Amit Shah and JP Nadda will chair this meeting, which will set the groundwork for the party’s strategy.
Later in the evening, the Central Election Committee (CEC) will convene at 6.30 pm at BJP headquarters. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president JP Nadda and other senior leaders will participate in this crucial meeting. The CEC will conduct a detailed review of the shortlisted candidates and finalize names for the remaining seats.
BJP’s first list for Delhi assembly polls already out
BJP has already announced candidates for nearly 29 key constituencies out of the total 70 assembly seats in Delhi. The CEC will now review the shortlisted candidates for the remaining seats.
Party sources have revealed that the selection process will focus on ensuring that candidates have clean reputations and do not pose risks of controversy.
