Dehradun: Known for his deep faith in Lord Kedar and his previous visits to Lord Badri Vishal, PM Modi is now poised to deliver a powerful message to the nation and the world from Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines during his consecutive visit to Uttarakhand in first week of February following his presence on the National Games inauguration ceremony, scheduled on 28 January.
Moreover, the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit is anticipated to highlight the significance of these sacred sites. His possible winter stay at Harshil or Mukhba (winter seat of Ma Ganga) is likely to emphasize the importance of winter travel, promoting the idea of visiting these holy places during the colder months.
Ongoing preparations for his visit
The state government has been meticulously preparing for PM Modi’s visit. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami recently met with the Prime Minister, extending an invitation to visit Uttarakhand and participate in the winter Char Dham yatra. According to the sources, PM Modi may perform a ceremonial worship of Maa Ganga in Mukhaba, further emphasizing the significance of winter travel.
Overnight stay and winter tourism promotion
PM Modi, known for his special affection for Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, may stay overnight in Dehradun or another winter tourist destination after inaugurating the National Games. During a recent visit to Delhi, Chief Minister Dhami informed the Prime Minister about the state’s winter tourism initiatives and requested his participation. If PM Modi stays overnight on January 28, options for his stay include Bagori village near Harshil, among other winter destinations. Deepankar Semval, a member of Gangotri priest community, said to News9live, “Preparations are going on for PM’s stay in Bagori village on 28 but we don’t have confirmation yet. His winter stay is most likely in the first week of February, either in Mukhba or Harshil’s Bagori village.”
Potential announcements for Gangotri and Yamunotri
Anticipation is building around possible announcements related to Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines. Following the successful Rishikesh to Karnaprayag rail line project, there is speculation that the state may receive another significant infrastructure gift, potentially involving a rail line project for Gangotri and Yamunotri.
Inauguration of the 38th National Games
Prime Minister Modi’s itinerary includes attending the opening ceremony of the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand. Scheduled to arrive in Dehradun on January 28, PM Modi will inaugurate the event in the afternoon before returning. During his five-hour stay in Uttarakhand, PM Modi will be briefed on various schemes and projects implemented in the state. Special preparations have been made to present these initiatives to the Prime Minister, highlighting the state’s progress and development efforts.
