‘PM Modi is losing his memory like…’: Rahul Gandhi at Amravati rally

Amravati: During a rally in Maharashtra’s Amravati, Congress MP and leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches, suggesting that the Prime Minister might be losing his memory. Rahul Gandhi shared a conversation he had with his sister, who mentioned that PM Modi had been repeating the same points in his speeches that were being said by opposition leaders.

Rahul Gandhi humorously referred to this by comparing PM Modi’s memory loss to that of the former President of the United States, who reportedly needed reminders due to forgetfulness. He also mentioned an incident where the President of the United States mistakenly referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin as coming from Ukraine, further suggesting that PM Modi’s memory issues were similar.

Similarly, the bag of NCP leader Sharad Pawar was checked in Raigad. After the checks, Gandhi proceeded to his public meeting, where he would campaign for eight candidates from the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition in the Amravati district.

Rahul Gandhi criticises BJP leaders

At the rally, Rahul Gandhi focused on the importance of the Constitution, saying that it empowers citizens to live with dignity. He expressed confidence that the people of Maharashtra would give a strong response to those attacking the Constitution.

Rahul Gandhi also blamed Prime Minister Modi for the unemployment in the country. He said that the current government’s policies, including demonetisation and the introduction of GST, had severely impacted small businesses and led to factory closures. He said that young people were struggling to find jobs, especially as imports from China continued to flood the market, harming local industries.

Rahul Gandhi also accused PM Modi and the BJP of undermining the Constitution. He claimed that during a meeting to form Maharashtra government, BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, were plotting behind closed doors to “steal” the state government. He said that this was done to benefit a friend who wanted access to land in Dharavi.
