Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Gujarat, marking October 31 as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day). The celebration underscores Patel’s vital role in India’s independence and national unification.
The festivities began with Modi paying floral tribute to Patel, followed by an impressive flypast by the Indian Air Force. A statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) outlined the day’s events, which included administering the Ekta Diwas pledge and overseeing the Ekta Diwas Parade. This parade showcased 16 marching contingents from nine states, a Union territory police force, and various central armed police forces, along with participation from the National Cadet Corps and a marching band.
