Kachchh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali with Border Security Force (BSF) jawans, Army, Navy and Air Force personnel at Lakki Nala in Sir Creek area of Kachchh in Gujarat on Thursday.
This is an extremely inhospitable place due to the very hot days and very cold nights. The terrain in this area is also challenging. This Diwali, PM Modi reached Lakki Nala which is close to Pakistan border.
PM offers sweets to BSF personnel
The prime minister also offered sweets to armed forces personnel who are deployed at the border posts.

PM Modi reached Lakki Nala after he landed at Koteshwar in Kachchh from Ekta Nagar, PTI quoted a BSF official as saying.
A video is also shared by BSF officials wherein PM Modi is seen wearing a BSF uniform and offering sweets to the personnel on board a BSF patrol vessel.
Equipping our forces with modern resources
While addressing the BSF troopers, PM Modi said his government is equipping the army, security forces with modern resources keeping in view the needs of the twenty-first century.
He also said his govt is invested in effort to put the Indian army in the league of the world’s most modern military forces. The PM also stated that his government is working to make our forces self-reliance and its refection is seen in ‘Aatmnirbharta’ in the defence sector.
PM pays tribute to Sardar Patel on National Unity Day
Earlier in the day, the PM Modi paid tributes to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Statue of Unity on the birth anniversary of India’s first Home Minister. Patel’s birthday is celebrated as National Unity Day.
During his visit to statue of unity, PM Modi said the introduction of significant reforms like ‘one nation, one tax’ system, has streamlined the country’s economic framework. He also said his government is working to implement of ‘one nation, one election’ initiative, which he said will strengthen the Indian democracy.
