New Delhi: We have witnessed some of the greatest talents playing for Manchester United over the years. However, in the recent times, many have started to believe that United is the “graveyard of top talents”, as due some or the other reasons, top players manage to flop at the the theatre of dreams.
There have been players over the years that have flopped for the Red Devils and somehow never managed to hit the ground running ever again, a list that includes some of the top talents from the past such as Radamel Falcao, Adnan Januzaj and many more had witnessed their downfall after their respective disastrous moves to United. Meanwhile, there have also been a few talents who managed to escape the list and revived their careers after leaving Manchester United and joining other clubs, including the likes of Angel Di Maria, Memphis Depay and Alexis Sanchez.
After the sacking of Erik Ten Hag, who was always a controversial figure at the club, United have already started off strongly under the new coach, Ruben Amorim. One of Ten Hag’s biggest let downs at the club was certainly his relationships with a few players. People have questioned his tactics as well as his ways of dealing with his players during his stint at Manchester. However, there were players who did leave the club recently, and managed to revive their careers, performing in different leagues and clubs.

Ever since the Spaniard left Old Trafford back in July 2023, he spent more than a year, away from football. The 33-year-old had a long time away from the beautiful game, but he made his return this season, as the Serie A high flyers, Fiorentina signed him on a permanent basis. Ever since the season started, De Gea has been on fire and he is proving the doubters wrong with his outstanding performances, reminding everyone why he was once one of the best goalkeepers in the world.
His team sits steady in the Serie A table, holding on to the fifth spot and De Gea’s performances have truly been mesmerising, as the veteran has already become a fan favourite in Italy, impressive with his terrific reflexes and goalkeeping abilities that everyone is well aware of. The Spaniard has already kept three clean sheets in seven Serie A games, with the highest save percentage in the league. He has only conceded six goals and has been the perfect leader at the back for La Viola.

Jadon Sancho has had an interesting few months and the most shocking news was his loan move to Chelsea after a failed spell at Manchester United. There were hopes after he returned to Old Trafford from a loan spell at Dortmund, where he had a rather impressive loan spell. However, things just didn’t workout for Sancho under the guidance of Erik Ten Hag, which eventually led to him moving to Chelsea on yet another loan transfer.
This season he has proved to be a brilliant loan signing for the Blues. He may have only started five games, but he has been pretty impressive on the pitch with his acceleration, speed and flare, that has provided Enzo Maresca with a variety of attacking options this season. The English winger already has provided three assists this season, and his playing style on the pitch has truly been electrifying for the Blues. He will be looking to get more minutes under Maresca, as he can be a handy asset for Chelsea.
Scott McTominay
Scott McTominay is absolutely smashing it at Napoli.
He’s scored after 25 seconds against Como in Naples this evening to add to a goal against Palermo and an assist against Monza in his first four games.

Talking about solid performances, former Man United fan favourite midfielder Scott McTominay has been brilliant ever since he made his move to Italy, playing for Napoli. The Scottish international has made an immediate impact at the club, and the Napoli fans are already loving this guy at Naples. Antonio Conte has put his faith on McTominay and he has not disappointed, as the midfielder has looked extremely solid in the Napoli midfield, producing top class performances this season with two goal contributions already.
It will be interesting to see how he will be performing in the long run after a rather disappointing stint at Manchester United. However, the Scottish midielder may not have been an elite playmaker, but he was an instrumental part of Man United’s midfield. Now he has a lot more to offer, and prove himself to the Napoli fans, as it has been a great start to his new life in Italy.
