Dehradun: Locals residing near the winter seats of the Char Dham shrines are optimistic about generating income even after the conclusion of the main Char Dham Yatra this year.
The commencement of the winter Char Dham Yatra has brought a sense of encouragement among them. They hope that this winter pilgrimage will provide a sustained source of income after the primary Char Dham Yatra has ended.
More than 250 pilgrims reached Narsimha temple in Jyotirmath
The famous Narsimha temple in Jyotirmath, the winter seat of Lord Badrinath, has witnessed the footfall of over 250 pilgrims on the first day of the commencement of winter Char Dham yatra in Uttarakhand on Sunday. According to Kishor Panwar, vice president, Badri-Kedar temple committee, around 50 pilgrims offered their prayers at Pandukeshwar, the winter seat of Uddhavji and kuberji who are revered as representatives of Lord Badrinath.
Around 400 pilgrims reached Gopeshwar
On the first day of winter Char Dham yatra, over 400 pilgrims visited the Gopeshwar temple, winter seat of Lord Rudranath revered as one among the Panch Kedar in Uttarakhand, situated in Chamoli district.
State government swung into action for better arrangements
With the official announcement of the beginning of the winter Char Dham yatra, the Uttarakhand government has swung into action to make proper arrangement of the pilgrims at the winter seats of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. The government wants to promote the winter char Dham yatra to ensure financial growth of the state as well as locals.
Uttarkashi district making preparations to welcome pilgrims
Meanwhile, the Uttarkashi district administration has started its preparations to provide proper basic facilities to pilgrims who will reach Mukhba temple, the winter seat of deity Ganga, and Kharsali, the winter seat of deity Yamuna. The administration will hold a meeting to ensure availability of proper basic facilities for the pilgrims at the winter seats of deities- the Ganga and the Yamuna on Tuesday.
Local are hopeful
Locals are happy with the state government giving special focus to inviting pilgrims for the winter Char Dham Yatra. The locals hope that it will improve their financial condition after the end of the main Char Dham yatra. The main Char Dham Yatra is known as the backbone of the state’s economy. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami offered prayers at Omkareshwar temple. During the winter season, travel in the hills remains easy.
UPCL to ensure uninterrupted power supply at the winter seats of Char Dham Yatra
Meanwhile, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has made elaborate arrangements for making interrupted power supply at the four winter seats. In view of the winter Char Dham Yatra and winter tourism, the UPCL has asked its all divisions to remain in the alert-mode. Apart from the winter seats of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, the UPCL has also planned to strengthen the power supply to the winter tourist spots.
