New Delhi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly preparing to take action against the former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja for his controversial remark after the team’s 2-1 Test series victory against England at home. As per the reports, his name might be omitted from the commentary panel for Pakistan’s upcoming white-ball tour against Australia in November.
Pakistan defeated England by nine wickets in the third Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and won the three-match Test series by 2-1. This was their first series victory at home since 2021 and first under the leadership of Shan Masood.
After the match, the Pakistani captain was interviewed by former chief Ramiz Raja. While speaking to Masood, Raja reminded him that he had lost six Test matches in a row as captain. Masood was taken aback by his remark and looked in a little shock.
“There are two things that you will see. One is how to play on seaming conditions and the other thing is if it is a one-off. How did you achieve this, six losses in a row?” Ramiz Raja said on-air.
In reply, Masood said that the nation needed this win and he is happy for Pakistan. “Ramiz bhai, we needed this win. The nation needed this win and I am really happy for Pakistan”. Raja could later be heard asking if Masood is planning to gain control over a particular shot. Masood responded, “Yes, I will be able to control it Ramiz bhai”.
Pakistan win home Test series after four years
Chasing the target of 36 runs, Shan Masood scored an unbeaten 23 runs as the hosts cruised to victory in third Test. Jamie Smith scored 89 runs off 119 balls and took England to 267 in the first innings. Sajid Khan took 6 wickets for Pakistan.
In reply, Pakistan scored 344 runs in the first innings. Shakeel smashed 134 runs off 223 balls. Rehan Ahmed picked up four wickets for England. England collapsed for 112 in the second innings and Noman Ali took six wickets for the home team.
Fans lambast Ramiz Raja for insulting Shan Masood on-air
Ramiz Raja, his own cricket was bullshit like Ijaz Ahmed. They both survived in the team due to strong nepotism roots. Ramiz is frontman of many bookies like Afridi, Akmal Bros and Baber & friends. @TheRealPCB must sack him from commentary job as well. pic.twitter.com/JRnzvcYLB6

Ramiz Raja is disgusting to a core. He has just gone mad , What kind of questions are these? He shouldn’t be allowed to sit in commentary box in next series. #PAKvsENG #PAKvENG pic.twitter.com/5SVXqGw8Ch

Never forget that Ramiz Raja was one of the worst chairmen Pakistan have ever had whose negative effects can still be felt. And now he has the audacity to taunt Pakistan’s captain after a series win just because his favourite was left out.
