New Delhi: The BJP candidate from Patparganj, Ravinder Singh Negi has taken a massive lead over AAP candidate Avadh Ojha.
After four rounds of counting, Negi is leading by 9,347 votes. He garnered 24,335 votes, while Ojha could get only 14,988 votes. The Congress candidate Anil Kumar is a distant third with 3,396 votes.
Meanwhile, according to official data from Election Commission, BJP is set to form government in the capital after being in opposition for nearly three decades. The saffron party is up on 40 seats, including on the all important Kalkaji seat. AAP national convenor, Kejriwal is facing a tough contest against BJP’s Parvesh Verma from New Delhi seat. After six rounds of counting he is trailing by 225 votes.
