Jodhpur: A passenger onboard an Indigo flight from Jodhpur to Bengaluru was deboarded after he allegedly opened the emergency exit gate of the aircraft just before take-off. The passenger, however, claimed that he accidentally opened the door.
The man has been identified as Siraj Kidwai, who works at Axis Bank. Just before the flight was about to take off at 10:10 AM, there was a stir on board the aircraft after the incident. The flight crew, who had started the flight safety demonstration, informed the pilot of the development and handed him over to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The passenger opened the emergency gate
Sharing the information IndiGo said that during the safety briefing by the crew, before flight 6E 6033, was all set for departure, a passenger opened the emergency exit door. The standard operating procedures. Was immediately followed by the crew. The said passenger was later disembarked from the plane and was handed over to law enforcement officials for investigation.”
It added, “We regret the inconvenience caused to other passengers on the flight and reaffirm our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security in all our operations.” After taking him in custody the CISF officials have started interrogating him in Jodhpur. The incident led to a 20-minute delay in the departure of the flight.
A drunken passenger off-loaded last month from IndiGo aircraft
Last month, a drunk woman passenger created a ruckus on the IndiGo Airlines (6E) flight at the Hyderabad airport, after which a case was filed against her. The disruption not only delayed the take-off of the flight but also compromised with security of other passengers. The flight was on its way to Mumbai. The woman had allegedly entered into an argument with the crew after boarding the flight, in a drunken state. Soon, the security personnel intervened and she was off-loaded from the aircraft.
