Chandrapur: A 8-foot long python was found inside a potato container in a hotel in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur, triggering a panic among the people. The non-venomous snake was found inside a box of potatoes kept at the hotel in Lohara village. A video has gone viral showing the reptile sitting on top of some potatoes.
The python was spotted by hotel staff when one of them went to get potatoes. Upon spotting the snake, the worker ran out in fear. The news of the snake in the box led to chaos at the hotel. The reptile was later rescued and released in a forest area after the hotel owner called a local snake catcher. In the clip, a man can be seen releasing the python near a water body in a forest.

A few days back, a giant python was seen on the fencing of a power house in Lucknow, causing a panic among people. The power supply had to be cut to rescue the python. In July, a six-foot-long snake was rescued from a toilet of Agra Fort premises. The staff at the Agra fort called an NGO to rescue the snake after they found the snake coiled in the toilet seat. An official said that spotting snakes inside human habitations is not uncommon during the rainy season.
