Pakistan-based terrorist urges followers to execute train derailments in Delhi, Mumbai

New Delhi: Pakistan-based terrorist Farhatullah Ghori has called upon his followers to execute large-scale train derailments in Delhi, Mumbai and other parts of the country. Ghori, a key member of proscribed terrorist organisations Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) released a video on Telegram urging his supporters to “target the supply chain” to cripple India’s infrastructure.

According to Delhi Police, Farhatullah Ghori is the mastermind of the 2002 Akshardham Temple terror attack in Gujarat. He was designated an individual as terrorist by the Union Home Ministry in 2020. Ghori who is originally from the Kurmaguda area of ​​Hyderabad has been hiding in Pakistan since he escaped from India.

In his video, Ghori said, “Target petrol pipelines, their logistics chain, and the collaborators…disrupt the railway lines, their transport system… These will precipitate chaos.” “The govt is targeting our properties through ED and NIA, but remain steadfast, we will usurp power sooner or later,” he added, TOI reported.

Ghori also called for “fidayeen war” against India and urged his followers to target Hindu leaders and the police. “Experiment with different tactics to ascertain what works… where they are most vulnerable,” he said. In March too, the terror recruiter had release a video in which he called for war against India.

Ghori has been on the Indian agencies’ radar after investigations for his involvement in terror-related activities. Last year, Delhi police’s special cell said that the Pune module of ISIS busted by them was being orchestrated by Ghori, who was impersonating as an IS recruiter.

Earlier this month, the special cell arrested Rizwan Abdul Haji Ali, a member of the Pune ISIS terror module. Ali, a resident of Delhi’s Daryaganj, was in touch with Ghori, probe had revealed.
