New Delhi: Days after a terror attack in Pahalgam in which at least 26 people were killed, India has written a letter to Pakistan, informing Islamabad of New Delhi’s decision to suspend the Indus Water treaty. Pakistan called the Indian decision and called it an act of war. The government on Thursday held an all-party meeting on Thursday, after which the Opposition said it would support the Modi Government in whatever step it takes.
Earlier, the government announced several steps against Pakistan after LeT supported ‘The Resistance Front’ claimed responsibility for the terror attack. Among the steps are suspension of the Indus Water Treaty, asking Pakistan citizens to leave India within 24 hours, cutting down on diplomatic ties, among others. Pakistan too responded by banning Indian visa and also stopped Indian aeroplanes from entering the country.
