Chennai: Actress Oviya has lodged a complaint with the Kerala police, alleging that a morphed intimate video was circulated on social media to tarnish her reputation. The 17-second video, featuring a woman with a similar tattoo as Oviya’s, sparked controversy and speculation.
Oviya initially ignored the criticism but later filed an email complaint with the Thrissur Commissioner of Police, requesting removal of the videos from X and porn websites. Following her complaint, Thrissur Police Commissioner Ilango intervened, and three obscene videos were removed from the X website.

The Kerala Police have launched an investigation and are working to remove the videos from other porn websites. Oviya has revealed to the police that she suspects her former partner, Tariq, of uploading the morphed video as revenge after their breakup. She also alleged that Tariq possessed multiple morphed videos of women.
The police have assured that they will identify and apprehend those responsible for uploading the videos. The case highlights the growing concern of morphed content and online harassment, emphasizing the need for stricter laws and swift action against perpetrators.
