Over 18,000 guests, another record by PM Modi; why this Independence Day is special- Explained

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi will address the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort for the eleventh consecutive time on Thursday, August 15.

With this PM Modi would become the second PM after Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru to address the nation on eleven consecutive times.

PM’s special invitees

More than 18,000 guests would be present at the Independence Day program, including PM’s special invitees.

Representatives of the four castes mentioned by PM Modi – poor, youth, farmers and women – have been specially invited. Invitations were sent to about four thousand guests of these four categories.

The guests have been divided into eleven categories.

Invitation to farmers, youth and women guests

The ministries of agriculture and farmers welfare, youth affairs, women and child development have been given the responsibility of inviting farmers, youth and women guests.

Apart from these, the ministries of panchayati raj and rural development, tribal affairs, education and defense also prepared the guest list. NITI aayog is also inviting guests.

Olympians might also be invited

All players in the Indian contingent of the Paris Olympics might also be invited.

This will be the PM’s first speech in his third term. He can present the priorities of the government in front of the country and provide a road map to make India a developed country.
