New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led Centre was involved in a huge plot to manipulate the voter list in Delhi. The chief minister levelled allegations against the saffron party, stating that it was misusing the government machinery to reduce the votes unfairly, essentially targeting those associated with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
Taking to X, Atishi alleged that the Centre’s conspiracy started on October 28 when 29 SDM-ADMs (Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Additional District Magistrates) were shifted.
She wrote on X: “Shortly thereafter, orders were issued directing the officers to begin removing AAP voters from the list. These orders were coming directly from SDM offices, where AERO-BLO (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers) were asked to remove AAP voters from the list.”

What are ‘voter list’ allegations?
Atishi pointed out that the Centre reportedly shifted 29 SDM-ADMs (Sub-Divisional Magistrates and Additional District Magistrates) and later, the officials were handed a list of AAP supporters and voters. The CM claimed that the AERO-BLO (Assistant Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers) were asked to remove the names of AAP voters from the voter’s list. Atishi exhorted the AERO-BLO officials not to give in to pressure and bring out the alleged conspiracy in front of the public.
On X, she wrote: “I appeal to all AERO-BLO that if any officer is pressurizing them to do this, then record it and send it to me, expose their conspiracy to kill democracy so that strict action can be taken against these officers.”
Delhi assembly elections are scheduled for February next year. AAP is looking for a third consecutive term following its massive victory in 2020 elections, where it won 62 out of 70 seats.
