New Delhi: Following a humiliating defeat, senior Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has blamed himself for the loss from the New Delhi constituency against BJP’s Pravesh Verma. AAP’s Arvind Kejriwal came on the second spot. It was a shock defeat for Arvind Kejriwal who lost the seat for the first time after he started contesting from the seat.
Responding to his loss, Sandeep Dikshit said he was personally responsible for the humiliating loss and failed to live up to this sentiment.
“Thankful to top leadership”
“I am thankful to the top leadership of Congress for the trust they showed in me and the opportunity they gave me in this election.
I, and only I, am personally responsible for this humiliating defeat from the New Delhi seat. The Delhi voter wanted change, and I failed to live up to this sentiment,” Sandeep Dikshit posted on X.
The Congress leader also thanked party workers and volunteers for hard work in the election.

“I heartily thank all the workers and the many volunteers who worked day and night in this election. I am very grateful to those who voted for Congress even today. Although I did not get the votes of many, I am especially thankful to the people of New Delhi for the love and respect they gave me during the elections,” he added.
