New Delhi: The State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha has increased the number of vacancies for the recruitment of Sepoy or Constable in Odisha Police. A total of 720 vacancies across Odisha Police battalions have been increased, totalling the count to 2,030, which was earlier 1,360. The Odisha Police Constable vacancies battalion-wise distribution can be checked on the official website of the board at odishapolice.gov.in.
The SSB board has also extended the last date to apply for the Odisha Constable recruitment 2024 to October 30. Earlier, the last date to apply was set for October 13. Once the application window closes, the form correction process will begin.
Odisha Police Constable Recruitment 2024: Eligibility criteria
- Candidates must pass Class 10 with Odia as one of the subjects.
- The age of the candidate needs to be between 18 to 23 years as of January 1, 2024.
- There is age relaxation for the reserved category candidates.
- Candidates need to be Indian citizens.
- Candidates should have sound health, free from physical deformities and organic defects.
- Women, transgenders and Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) are not eligible to apply.
- The candidate should not have more than one spouse living. This may be exempted under personal law or other grounds. The spouse of the applicant should know how to speak, write and read in Odia.
Odisha Police Constable selection process
Candidates will be selected for the post of Police Constable based on a Computer Based Recruitment Examination (CBRE), a Physical Standard Test (PST), a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), a driving test and a medical exam.
The will be a total of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions in the exam. The computer-based exam will be for 100 marks and will be conducted for a duration of two hours. As per the marking scheme, 0.25 marks will be deducted for a wrong attempt. For the un-attempted questions, no marks will be deducted.
