New Delhi: The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) will close the pre-matric, post-matric and higher education central and state government scholarship application process for the 2024-2025 academic session today, October 31. The NSP scholarship application link is available on the official website at scholarships.gov.in.
To apply for the NSP scholarship, candidates first need to go to the official portal. Next, complete the registration process to generate the login details. Once done, log in through the applicant’s login window and proceed to fill out the application form with the academic and personal details. Upload the necessary documents and submit the form. Candidates are advised to download and keep a printout of the application confirmation page for reference.
NSP Scholarship 2024: Eligibility requirements
Students who fulfil the below eligibility conditions are eligible to apply for the NSP scholarship-
- The annual income of the family of the student from all sources should not be more than Rs 3,50,000. However, the amount may vary as per the specific scheme).
- The applicant must have a valid caste certificate and aadhaar card.
- At least 55 per cent marks or equivalent grade is required in the Class 7 exam. However, for the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) category students there is a relaxation of 5 per cent.
NMMS scholarship scheme
Under the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMS) scholarship scheme, a total of 1,00,000 meritorious students will be granted Rs 12,000 per annum (Rs 1,000 per month). To be eligible for the NMMS scholarship for Class 9 to 12, the parental income should not exceed Rs 3,50,000. However, as per the state and Union Territory (UT) guidelines, there is a fixed quota of scholarships as per the age group of Class 7 to 8.
