Dehradun: The new guest houses, which are being constructed in the state, will be available for the tourists on payment basis in case there is no booking in the name of VIP guests. The government aims to ensure proper and commercial use of the under-construction new guest houses in future.
Chief secretary Radha Raturi, who held a meeting of the Expenditure Finance Committee on the premises of the state secretariat on Monday, gave clear instructions to the officers concerned in this regard.
Government buildings to be green buildings
Chief secretary Raturi directed the government working construction agencies to build all the government buildings, which are either under-construction or to be constructed in the future as green buildings. All such buildings will have mandatory arrangements for solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and water recycling. She underlined the need to make water recycling compulsory in water supply schemes.
Option of learning foreign languages for the students undergoing training in nursing colleges
Chief secretary also directed the secretary, health department, to ensure the option of knowing foreign languages for the students undergoing training in nursing colleges, besides making arrangements for teaching them in the foreign languages. She directed the Planning Department to issue instructions to officials concerned for mandatory construction of basement parking in all the newly constructed government buildings.
Approval to several projects at the meeting
At the meeting, she also gave her approval for the works of the Athletic Pavilion Shed and seat in the MPSC Raipur Dehradun, Clementown water supply scheme work in Dehradun, construction work of Adarsh Residential School at Makhanpur, Haridwar, construction works of new state guest house in Pithoragarh, Tanakpur (Champawat), Tanakpur Bus Terminal (revised), 32 houses for judicial personnel in Mohkampur Dehradun, new nursing college on the campus of Government Medical College Haldwani.
Prominent among those who attended the meetings were senior officers Vinod Kumar Suman, and Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, besides the officials of different departments, including the drinking water, the irrigation, the education, the health, and others.
