Noida: The trials at Noida International Airport commence on December 9. Aircraft from the Airport Authority of India (AAI) took off from Indira Gandhi International Airport and will land at Noida International Airport in Jewar. Before landing, the aircraft will circle the airport for approximately one and a half to two hours to gather all necessary data. This data is crucial for determining whether the airport is fully prepared for regular operations. The flight trials will continue until December 15 and will include both landing and take-off tests.
As per the information provided by the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), during the trial the runway performance, airspace coordination, communication protocols and emergency response preparedness will also be assessed. The data gathered after the trial will be sent to the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for review. After the successful trial, the airport will be opened for passengers from April, 2025.
Trail tests between 9 and 15 December
1. Runway performance test – Assessment the length, lighting system and surface conditions of the runway.
2. Navigation system analysis – ILS and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI) system test.
3. Communication protocol test – Control and coordination of air traffic.
4. Emergency simulation – Testing of airport response in adverse cases including engine failure or weather disruption.
