Noida: The Chhath Puja celebrations in Noida and Greater Noida are expected to be grand as the Noida and Greater Noida administration prepare several ghats for accommodating large number of devotees.
The authorities of Noida and Greater Noida are making extensive arrangements to ensure the devotees and visitors have a convenient experience in the ghats. For this the authorities are working in association with several local and cultural committees.
Over 50 new ghats added this year
This year over 50 new sites have been made in the city taking the total tally of temporary ghats to 100 in Noida. Large ghats have been set up in important sectors which include Sector 12, 22, 49, 50, 52, 56, 62, 63, 71, 74, and 82 with great effort. According to the officials, to meet the needs of devotees the authority has ensured cleanliness, security, and accessibility, as per a report by Hindustan Times.
As per the traditions of Chhath Puja, the rituals in first two days are performed at home whereas the last two days are supposed to be performed while standing in water.
In coordination with the Pravasi Mahasangh, huge ghat has been constructed at the Noida Stadium in Sector 21A, as a large crowd is expected in the spot. As per the primary organiseres for the Sector 75 ghat, the Akhil Bhartiya Pravasi Mahasabha and Shri Suryadev Puja Samiti, more than 5,000 visitors are anticipated to come in this ghat alone.
Lights, CCTV cameras and drone monitoring
The ghat at Noida Stadium has the largest pond which provides a large space for devotees to perform their rituals conveniently. Around 50 CCTV camera have been installed in the site along with drone monitoring to ensure security of the devotees. To manage security and flow of crowed, the administration is working in collaboration with local law enforcement.
According to the officials, CEO of Greater Noida Authority, NG Ravi will inspect the preparations with primary focus on cleanliness. For ensuring safety and creating a more festive ambient, the ghats are being cleaned and lights are being installed in the ghats.
