Noida: A 28-year-old man working as an electrician was killed after a major fire broke out at a banquet hall in Sector-74 of Noida in the wee hours of Wednesday. The extent of the blaze was so massive that around 15 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and were continuing operations till early morning.
The victim has been identified as Parminder, a resident of Baraut in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. Police and fire bridge personnel have been stationed at the Lotus Grandeur banquet hall to carry out rescue operations for those who may be trapped.
The cause of the fire that broke out around 3.30 am is yet to be ascertained and the authorities are currently assessing the situation to douse the flames and damage suffered, police said.

The victim’s charred body has been pulled out from the gutted hall and sent for post-mortem. He was reportedly inside when the fire broke out and failed to rush out.
