Vrindavan: Janmashtami is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the Vraj region, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna. The festive spirit is high among both children and elders, as they come together to honour Lord Krishna.
However, the management of the world-renowned Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan has issued an important advisory for devotees attending the celebrations.
Advisory for Janmashtami celebrations
Due to the expected large crowds and recent incidents at the Banke Bihari temple, the management has decided that children and elderly people should not be brought to the temple on Janmashtami day. According to the statement, this decision aims to ensure their safety and manage the large influx of visitors more effectively.
This year, Janmashtami celebrations will span two days in Mathura. On August 26, the festival will be observed at the birthplace of Lord Krishna in Mathura. The main celebrations at the Banke Bihari temple in Vrindavan, where Lord Krishna is said to reside, will take place on August 27.
Given the significance of the temple and the expected high turnout, the temple management has made extensive preparations to handle the crowds. Despite these efforts, controlling the flow of visitors remains a challenge.
Visitors not allowed to bring luggage
To help manage the crowd and ensure a smooth experience for all devotees, the temple has issued additional guidelines. Visitors are advised not to bring bags or any other luggage into the temple. The advisory emphasises that there will be separate routes for entry and exit.
Devotees should use the designated entrance to enter and the exit gate to leave. The temple management has strictly requested that no one attempt to enter through the exit or exit through the entrance gate.
