New Delhi: The excitement around Singham Again continues to grow, but there’s a surprising update that has left fans buzzing. Salman Khan’s much-anticipated cameo as Chulbul Pandey from the Dabangg series in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming film has been cancelled due to safety concerns.
According to a report by Bollywood Hungama, the decision to drop the Tiger 3 actor from Singham Again stems from ongoing security threats against the superstar. Salman, who was set to reprise his iconic role in a guest appearance, is currently facing heightened safety concerns following several death threats.
No Chulbul Pandey in Singham Again?
The report also suggests that the shoot was originally scheduled to happen at the Golden Tobacco location in Mumbai. However, after the recent passing of Baba Siddique, the team decided it would be inappropriate to proceed with Salman’s scenes amidst the controversy surrounding his safety.
An insider revealed that director Rohit Shetty and lead actor Ajay Devgn made the tough call to move forward without Salman’s cameo. “They felt it was insensitive to ask Salman to film under these circumstances, especially considering the ongoing threats,” the source said. Additionally, Singham Again was facing a tight deadline, with a submission date looming to meet the censor board’s cut-off on October 18.
Salman’s bond with Ajay and Rohit
Interestingly, there might still be a small nod to Chulbul Pandey in the film. The insider hinted at a potential backshot of Salman’s character in the post-credit scene, but nothing is confirmed yet.
Salman Khan had initially agreed to the cameo as a gesture of friendship towards both Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty. The three share a close bond, and fans were thrilled at the prospect of seeing Chulbul Pandey in Rohit’s action-packed cop universe.
About Singham Again
Despite Salman’s exit, Singham Again still boasts a star-studded cast. Ajay Devgn returns as Bajirao Singham, alongside Ranveer Singh as Simba, Akshay Kumar as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, Kareena Kapoor as Avni, and Deepika Padukone as Shakti Shetty. The film also stars Arjun Kapoor, who plays a modern-day Ravan, with Tiger Shroff, Jackie Shroff, Ravi Kishan, and Shweta Tiwari rounding out the cast.
Rohit Shetty has reportedly given a contemporary spin to the Ramayana for this cop saga. Singham Again is set to clash with Kartik Aaryan’s horror-comedy Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 when both films hit theatres on November 1, just in time for Diwali.
