New Delhi: New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon on Tuesday visited the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Delhi. The New Zealand PM recognized the significant contributions of the Hindu community to New Zealand’s growth and diversity. The New Zealand PM’s visit underscores the importance of embracing diversity and strengthening community bonds.
Writing on social media platform X, Luxon said, “The Hindu community in New Zealand has made a large contribution to our country. Today in Delhi, I paid my respects at a place sacred to many Kiwi-Hindus – the BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple.”

The New Zealand PM reached Delhi on Sunday on five-day India visit. He was also the chief guest of the Raisina Dialogue. During his address at the event on Monday, the New Zealand PM also highlighted the long-standing relationship between Indians and people of New Zealand.
Luxon also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday and said, “Prime Minister Modi and I sat down and we charted out the future of our two countries’ relationship. We agreed that our defence forces build greater strategic trust with one another while deploying together and training together more.”
