Panchkula: Nayab Singh Saini is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana on Thursday. The ceremony will take place in Panchkula and will be attended by several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. To ensure the event goes smoothly, strict security measures have been put in place in Panchkula.
Saini met governor Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday, following his election as the leader of the legislative party during a meeting held at the BJP office in Panchkula. Along with PM Modi and Amit Shah, other leaders expected to attend include defence minister Rajnath Singh, BJP national president JP Nadda, various Union ministers, chief ministers from different states, and senior leaders from BJP.
Potential ministers to be included in Haryana cabinet
Alongside Saini, 12 to 13 MLAs are expected to take oath as ministers. Calls have begun going out to potential ministers for the Naib cabinet. Sources confirm that Shruti Chaudhary is certain to be appointed as a minister, and Gaurav Gautam will also join the cabinet. Mahipal Dhanda is another likely candidate for a ministerial position.
Additionally, Anil Vij and Krishna Lal Panwar have received calls to take the oath. Other MLAs such as Vipul Goyal, Rao Narbir, Aarti Rao, Krishna Bedi, and Ranbir Gangwa may also take their oaths as ministers.
Haryana assembly election results
The Haryana assembly elections were held on October 5, with BJP winning 48 out of 90 seats, while Congress secured 37 seats. This victory marks the BJP’s third consecutive term in the state. Nayab Singh Saini will take office as Chief Minister for the second time.
BJP leaders anticipate that around 50,000 people will attend the swearing-in ceremony.
