Dehradun: The state’s health department has constituted 141 teams to extend health services to the players and guests, participating in the National Games 2025. The team will remain in alert mode right during the period of the National Games from January 28 to February 14. As per the need, the ambulance as well as the Heli-ambulance services will be provided.
The health department has made arrangements to ensure availability of proper health services during the National Games 2025 on a large scale.
Chief medical officers will be district nodal officers for the National Games
According to health secretary R Rajesh Kumar, state nodal officers, deputy nodal officers, and Co-nodal officers have been appointed at the state-level. At the district-level, chief medical officers will be district nodal officers for the National Games while additional chief medical officers will function as Co-nodal officers. The district-level nodal officers have been made to ensure the availability of ambulance services.
10 bedded hospital will be functional for the players
Kumar said a 10 bedded hospital will be functional for the players in the Dhanvantri block of Maharana Pratap Stadium, Raipur in Dehradun. Similarly, two bedded hospitals will be operated in IGICS stadium, Gola Par, Haldwani. The department is purchasing an adequate quantity of medicines and equipment for the players. Doctor Tarun Tamta, chief superintendent of the district hospital, Nainital, has been designated as nodal officer of the Kumaon division. Doctor Tamta has received his education in Sports Medicines. Doctor K S Negi, the director, medical health, and family welfare, will be nodal officer of Garhwal division. Nodal officers have been asked to conduct on-site inspection.
The health department has deployed 150 doctors
As a part of its preparedness to provide health services during the National Games 2025, the department has deployed 150 doctors, 300 nursing staff, 25 physiotherapists, 30 pharmacists, and 50 ward-boy. 115 ambulances will be deployed during the National Games. Five beds will be reserved in the trauma department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh. 50 medical officers have been given training at AIIMS, Rishikesh, for capacity building. If required, Heli-ambulances will also be provided to airlift the players and associated people.
