Dehradun: The Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), which Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has constituted to ensure conduct of 38th national games, will tour Uttarakhand from November 16. Uttarakhand is hosting the national games 2025, beginning from January 28. The sports event will conclude on February 14.
The GTCC, which is headed by Mrs Sunaina, will mainly visit the cities, including Dehradun, Haridwar, Rudrapur, and Haldwani. Different sports competitions will be organized in these cities during the 38 national games.
GTCC will give its final approval to the venues selected for different sports competitions
During its tour of these cities, the GTCC will inspect sports stadiums, multipurpose halls, and water sports points. After being satisfied with the inspection, the GTCC will give its final approval to the selection of sports venues.
Sports directorate is satisfied with the preparations for holding the sports competitions in these cities
About a month back, the IOA approved the dates of holding the national games 2025, hosted by the hill state. Sports directorate is satisfied with the ongoing preparations for the national games 2025. The directorate is confident that there will be no need for changing the venues of sports events, selected by the sports department. If there is a suggestion to change any venue of sports events, the department is already prepared for the same.
GTCC may inspect proposed sub-centres
Special principal secretary Amit Sinha told reporters that a request will be made to the GTCC to visit Rishikesh, Nainital and Pithoragarh to inspect the proposed sub centres.
Earlier, GTCC held a videoconferencing meeting with the authorities concerned, including the functionaries of the Uttarakhand Olympic Association, to give final shape to its tour plan of the state. The GTCC will be in the state on November 16, 17 and 18.
Special training camps for 34 sports competitions to start from November 15
Meanwhile, the state government has asked the sports department to hold special training camps for 34 sports competitions from November 15. Necessary instructions have been given to sports federations for holding the special training camps for 34 sports competitions.

In this regard, Special Principal Secretary Amit Sinha has written a letter to all the sports federations as well as district sports officers.
