With coordinated endeavours, we aim to make Nagpur an international city by prioritising infrastructure, investments, and citizen-centric initiatives,” Bawankule said during his Republic Day address while emphasising the government’s multi-pronged approach.
The minister showcased the substantial investments flowing into Vidarbha, indicating a major economic shift. He mentioned the significant investments secured, totalling Rs 15.70 lakh crore for Maharashtra through the World Economic Forum in Davos. Nagpur itself has secured Rs. 500 crore for the electric vehicle sector and a massive Rs. 42,000 crore for the electronics sector, focused on lithium battery manufacturing. Further investments include Rs. 16,000 crore in green energy for Butibori and Rs. 10,319 crore in steel and metal industries for Chandrapur.
Significant investments are planned for healthcare, with substantial funds allocated to upgrade Mayo, Medical, and Daga hospitals. Other infrastructure initiatives include the creation of a Divyang Park, an agro-tourism project, a regional sports complex in Mankapur, and numerous skill development centers.
“The government has allocated substantial funds for upgrading Mayo, Medical, and Daga hospitals to provide sophisticated healthcare services. We are establishing a Divyang Park, an agro-tourism initiative, a regional sports complex at Mankapur, and skill development centres,” he elaborated.
Beyond infrastructure, Bawankule highlighted the government’s commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity through initiatives such as the PM Kisan Yojana and the Agristack program, which aims to provide farmers with real-time data and services.
“Through Agristack, farmers will access real-time data and services, ensuring precise crop damage assessments and efficient credit facilitation. This will empower farmers and enhance agricultural productivity,” he added.
