The chilling echo of a death threat targeting Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has led Mumbai Police to the doorstep of a 24-year-old woman named Fatima Khan. The threat message, received by Mumbai Traffic Police’s WhatsApp helpline, warned that Adityanath would be “killed like Baba Siddique” if he did not resign within 10 days.
The investigation, however, revealed a stark contrast to the menacing tone of the message. Khan, a highly qualified woman with a BSc degree in Information Technology, was apprehended and found to be suffering from mental health issues. Despite her academic achievements and a seemingly ordinary life in Thane with her family, her actions were driven by a troubled mind, according to police sources quoted by NDTV.
This arrest comes amid a disturbing trend of death threats targeting high-profile figures in Mumbai. The city’s police have been dealing with a wave of threats, primarily aimed at Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, demanding ransom in exchange for the actor’s life. These threats, often delivered through messages and social media, have created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.
