New Delhi: The Navi Mumbai police have arrested an accused in connection with the alleged plot to kill superstar Salman Khan, an official told PTI. The accused named Sukha was apprehended from Panipat, Haryana. He will be presented in court on October 17, Thursday after being brought to Navi Mumbai.
The arrest comes at a time when police is investigating the murder of the NCP leader Baba Siddique and its connection to Salman Khan. The Tiger 3 actor has been receiving death threats for several years now. While claiming the responsibility for Baba Siddique’s murder, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang sent another message to Salman Khan, stating that they didn’t want this “war” but the actor made their “brother lose his life”.
Police arrest accused in Salman Khan-Lawrence Bishnoi case
Navi Mumbai police have arrested the accused who was allegedly plotting to murder Salman Khan. In June this year, police said that they had uncovered a plot to target Salman while he was on his way to his Panvel farmhouse. This came after the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Bandra.
Earlier, in a statement to Mumbai police, the actor said that he believed that the firing was carried out to kill him and his family members. As per police, Lawrence Bishnoi has deployed 60 to 70 members to keep an eye on the actor’s movements including recce at his Mumbai home, shooting locations, and Panvel farmhouse.
Tight security around Salman Khan
Following Baba Siddique’s murder, Salman Khan received Y+ category security. The bystanders are not allowed to stop even for a minute and take selfies or videos outside the Galaxy Apartments. The entry inside the Galaxy Apartment has also been prohibited. According to reports, a specially skilled constable, skilled at handling all kinds of weapons, will be by the side of Salman Khan 24/7.
Meanwhile, in 2022, a threat letter was found on a bench opposite his home in Bandra and in 2023, Salman received a threat on email from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
