Mumbai: The registration of properties in Mumbai crossed 12,500 units in October owing to Dussehra and Diwali festivals, as per a report by property consultant Anarock.
The real estate consultant Anarock published its report on Wednesday, according to which there were 12,513 property registrations in Mumbai from October 1 to October 30. In November 2023 (last year Diwali was on November 12) the total property registrations were 9,736. There is a surge of 29 per cent in property registrations compared to the last year Diwali.
Notable growth in just first month of festive quarter
The chairman of Anarock, Anuj Puri said, “Though the housing sales across Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) remained sluggish in the third quarter of 2024, the sales of property in just first month of festive quarter is commendable.”
Puri added that the chief reason for such a notable rise in property registration could be due to the fact that both Dusshera and Diwali occurred on the same month. This was not the case last year when Dusshera was in October and Diwali in November. Most people consider buying or investing in properties in these festivals auspicious and they time their purchases according to the festival dates.
