Bhopal: The Mohan Yadav led-Madhya Pradesh government in a significant decision has said that strict action would be taken if non-Muslim children are given religious education in Madrasas.
Written consent must
The school education department issued orders in this regard on Friday. The order stated that it was illegal to provide religious education to non-Muslim children, adding, written consent from parents is mandatory for any kind of religious activity.
Child rights commission’s concern
The department referenced to Article 28(3) of the Constitution in its order.
The government had been receiving continuous complaints that non-Muslim children were being given religious education in Madrasas. The child rights commission has also expressed concern on this. The school education department has also issued instructions for physical verification of Madrasas.
