New Delhi: What would a man normally do if a snake bites him? When a man is bitten by a snake, his immediate reaction might be one of shock and fear. Instinctively, he might jump back or try to move away from the snake. He might rush to call emergency services or head to the nearest hospital, knowing that swift medical attention is critical.
Well, that is what this one man also did, except that he did with quite a twist. In Bihar’s Bhagalpur, a man was bitten by a Russell’s viper, one of the deadliest snakes in the world. Rather than panicking or keeping an eye on his condition, the man boldly caught the snake by its mouth and made his way to the hospital. A video showing him entering the hospital with the snake coiled around his neck has gone viral, leaving viewers stunned.
Snake bites man, he takes it to hospital
The viral video began with Prakash Mandal, dressed in a vest and dhoti, standing in the emergency ward of the hospital. Other patients and their attendants looked visibly frightened as he held a snake by its mouth, the reptile draped around his neck. Remarkably, Prakash gripped the snake with the same hand where it had bitten him, and a cloth was tightly tied around his arm to restrict the blood flow.

As the video continued, another man appeared, holding Prakash’s left arm and guiding him away to a safer area to protect those in the hospital. Shortly after, Prakash removed the snake from around his neck and then lay down on the floor.

A separate video that has been gaining attention online shows Mandal lying on a stretcher, still clutching the snake in his hand. One of the doctors advised him to let go of the snake so he could be properly treated, and Mandal finally released it. Although his current condition is unclear, NDTV reported that he is undergoing treatment.
